A shared passion for better plans, a commitment to real customer service, and three industry veterans who decided the status quo wasn't good enough.
While working with Fortune 500 companies, Enrolled Actuary Ana Pinto noticed a gap: big companies had no trouble setting up great retirement plans, but growing mid-size businesses were often left without cost-effective options. Ana connected with Seth Larner and Chris Paterna — two UNH alums on the rise in their own corners of the industry — and together they built the plan to even the playing field. Compass was born as the champion for small and mid-size businesses that need a partner they can trust and grow with.
What started as a small shop in New Hampshire has grown into a multi-state firm — and now, with our west coast expansion, a national one. Even as we grow, we're still at heart a small, inspired crew that sticks to what got us here: excellent service, real honesty, and a genuine belief that retirement planning shouldn't be this complicated.
Our clients' happiness is our first priority, full stop.
We promise to do right by you, every day and in every way.
We're not perfect, but we're transparent and fully committed to getting it right.
We bring our collective, vast experience to every plan we touch.
We don't settle for the norm — we work harder to find the better answer.
We build long-term partnerships with plan sponsors and advisors based on trust, and we back that up with a consultative approach that delivers a customized, cost-effective plan — one that eases the burden on the sponsor and helps participants actually reach their retirement goals.
